Course Update

While we did see some “white stuff” over the last few days, it was not significant enough to force us to not be open this weekend.  The forecast is calling for warmer temperatures and sunshine.  While the weather will not be ideal, The Legacy will be open for play on Saturday, November 2nd through Monday, November 4th.  From there we will be monitoring the conditions and forecast and make a determination at that point.  Fall rates are in effect.

Legacy Weather Update

It sounds like we are getting our first taste of winter.  We are not very happy about it or are we looking forward to what is coming.  With the forecast calling for cold temps, rain and snow, The Legacy will NOT be open for play on Tuesday, October 29th – Thursday, October 31st. We will be monitoring the weather on Thursday to make a determination regarding the upcoming weekend.

Junior Golf – Winter Program

For the 8th season Legacy PGA Pro Rob Randall is offering his Junior Golf Academy Winter Training Program.  The program starts December 1st and runs through March 31st and is a great way to prepare your Junior for their spring golf season.  CLICK HERE for more details.

Reserve your tee time online at https://legacygc.teesnap.net/ . Few things to remember when doing so online.

• Please reserve the tee time for the actual number of golfers. If your plans or numbers do change, you can adjust online reservations up to 24 hours before the tee time. Within 24 hours, you must call 515-287-7885 x2.
• We do not accept tee times for single players.
• Groups of less than 4 players will be paired up.
• Multiple tee time reservations must be made through Trevis
• Be sure to include the names of your playing partners. It sends them an email with the tee time reservation.

Fall Projects At The Legacy

Over the last few weeks The Legacy Staff has been busy when it has not been raining trying to get some fall projects complete.  Special thanks to our “Divot Divas” for helping out on the course.  Their project was completed today by filling divots on tees and fairways.  A grand total of 10 yards of sand was used.  That is a lot of sand to dish out by hand.  While they enjoyed the time on the course everyone at The Legacy would appreciate it if everyone filled their own divots.

The sunshine is a welcome sight. With all of the moisture we have received we need many days of sun and wind to begin the drying process.  Therefore, for an undetermined amount of time, golf carts will remain restricted to the paths only and the driving range will remain closed.

Course Update – October 7th

Finally some decent weather and sunshine over the next few days and we are hoping that is lasts. Fall Rates went into effect today until the end of the season.  We are still in need of more drying time for the driving range to be open and for the carts to be allowed off the paths.

• Fall Rates
  •  Monday – Thursday – 18 Holes With Cart = $40.00 + tax
  • Friday – Sunday – 18 Holes With Cart = $45.00 + tax
  • Weekend Twilight Rates are NO longer in effect
• Driving Range
  • Planning to open Tuesday, October 8th in the afternoon
• Carts
  • Will be restricted to the paths only for Monday, October 7th
  • Decision will be made on a daily basis thereafter
• Greens
  • It is truly remarkable that the greens were aerified less than a week ago.  Picture shown was taken Monday, October 7th

Legacy Update

More rain and thunderstorms are not what we were hoping for.   It looks like today may be a good day to watch football from the comfort from your home, but hopefully the sun will peak out later today.  Here are the latest details.

• Driving range is closed until further notice
• Golf carts are restricted to the paths only
  • Unfortunately, we do not see carts being allowed off the paths anytime soon
• 8″ Cup event for Sunday, October 6th is still on with normal tee time start
• Forecast for early next week is calling for great golfing conditions

Stop Slow Play

Slow play is a widespread problem and contributing to the decrease in the number of golfers.  We all live very busy lives and are constantly multitasking and being pulled in many different directions.  We understand and are attempting to do what we can to educate golfers on our policies and expectations.

Therefore, in 2019 we have enacted our Pace of Play Policy.
18 holes in 4:15 or less
9 holes in 2:05 or less

Please keep in mind that our goal is to provide the same experience to every player no matter what day or time they tee off.   We would also like to thank everyone who follows this policy, but have also taken the time communicate to our staff how much they appreciate what we are trying to do.  The overall response from customers has been extremely positive and gives us even more drive and determination to do what we can to help eliminate slow play.

Finally a day with no rain!  We are excited to see some sunshine and no rain clouds.  With the rainfall we did receive over the last few days, the carts will be restricted to the paths only through at least Sunday, October 6th.  The driving range will NOT be open today(Thursday), but we are hoping to have it open on Friday if the conditions allow.

What a crazy couple of days for early October with storms and rainfall. We are hoping and pulling for some sunshine, wind and drying conditions. With the course still being saturated, the golf carts will remain restricted to the carts paths only and the driving range will not be open. At this point, we are unsure when the golf carts will be allowed off the cart paths.

Hard to believe that in October we are still experiencing thunderstorms like yesterday. The Legacy survived the crazy evening, but we received additional rainfall that is not welcome. Therefore, golf carts are restricted to the carts paths only and the driving range will not be open. We will be evaluating the conditions daily.
